What is RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry?
RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry is a program designed to recharge anyone and everyone involved in the work of the church. It is easy to get discouraged and burn-out when working the mission field. It is easy to run out of ideas and enter into perpetual frustration with the work. RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry is a way for the Lord’s workers to share knowledge, experiences, ideas, and successes (and even failures too).
Digging Deeper: Building on the Foundation of God’s Word
There are two specific focuses of RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry. There is a textual growth focus and a practical application focus. There will be sessions designed to dig deeper into specific books of the Bible and faithfully pull out the truths of God. These sessions will reignite a passion for doing good honest Bible study, and encourage preachers and teachers to hone their study skills even more. All our work is in vain if it is not built on the correct foundation.
Putting it into Action: The Practical Side of Working for the Lord
The practical sessions are designed to explain how others are successfully handling specific situations in their congregations. They will give you ideas and specific steps you can implement into your local work. Others will also be encouraged to provide input on what they are doing in those specific areas that are working, or perhaps what has not worked. This is a workshop not a lectureship.
Who is Recharge for?
RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry is specifically designed for ALL Christians who want to be better workers for Christ. Even more specifically we are focusing in on Christians in California that are ministering the Gospel to the 40,000,000 lost souls in our state. This is not JUST for preachers. RECHARGE! is for everyone who is committed to the work of the Lord: preachers, elders, deacons, teachers, and committed Christians. This is a hands-on practical workshop for every Christian that wants to be better equipped to work in the Lord’s Kingdom in the Western United States.
Where is Recharge Going to Take Place?
RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry is going to take place in beautiful Monterey, California. Monterey is located right on the majestic California coast. It is a great place to relax and recharge!
The Monterey Bay is a perfect spot to spend a family vacation and to grow spiritually at the RECHARGE Conference. The Monterey Bay provides countless opportunities for you spend quality time with friends and family.
The Monterey Wharf
Spend some time checking out the shops and eating some fresh clam chowder in a bread bowl on Monterey’s wharf. You can also go deep sea fishing out of the wharf, or even go whale watching. It’s not uncommon to see sea otters floating around the wharf. There is plenty to see and do on Monterey’s wharf.
Cannery Row
Monterey is home of the Cannery Row that Steinbeck wrote about in his classic work. Visit the shops and enjoy the atmosphere of this unique place, all while enjoying the ocean breeze. There are plenty of restuarants to satisfy your cravings for great seafood.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
Spend some time at the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. This is a great place to take the kids and enjoy some family time in a fascinating undersea world. People travel from all over the world to Monterey just to visit this amazing aquarium.

RECHARGE: Excellence in Ministry will be held at the Best Western Monterey Beach Resort in Monterey, California. Spend three days just feet away from the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. The Best Western Monterey Beach Resortis located on the sands of the amazing Monterey Bay coast line.
All the sessions will be held in a conference room on the third floor of the Best Western Monterey Beach Resort that is overlooking the ocean. The location provides a great opportunity to relax and digest some great spiritual food.

When is Recharge?
RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry is on March 13th – 16th, 2013.
The schedule is Wednesday – Friday from 8:00-4:00 and Saturday from 8:00-12:00. This schedule will allow you time to spend with your family and friends enjoying the amazing Monterey Bay area. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the California Coast and enjoy some fantastic food too! Why not visit the award winning Monterey Bay Aquarium. How about a drive down one of the most beautiful roads in the world– 17 mile drive. How about dinner and some shopping on the wharf? Historic Cannery Row is just a couple miles away too.
RECHARGE! Excellence in Ministry will be a great relaxing experience for your whole family on top of being a great spiritual, informational and motivational charge in your work for the Lord. Arrive a few days early and make it into a great vacation in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Where did Recharge come from?
RECHARGE: Excellence in Ministry is a program that was born out of the thoughts and ideas of preachers in California who were born and raised in this mission field. They were tired of having to travel far away to get access to programs that provided an environment that cultivated and developed stronger church workers. In their broad travels they also noticed the West Coast was largely written off, or unnoticed by those in other parts of the country. The West Coast is a different culture from other parts of our country and it has its own unique influential cultural factors. We believe that something like RECHARGE: Excellence in Ministry is long past due for those of us working the mission field of the western United States.
RECHARGE: Excellence in Ministry is under the oversight of the Ripon Church of Christ. It is organized by Caleb O’Hara (Ripon, California), Jovan Payes (Livingston, California), and Elliot Hine (Manteca, California) as well as an advisory committee: Gary Greene (Brentwood, California), George Robertson (Santa Rosa, California), Cliff Sabroe (Visalia, California), Eric Castle (Redding, California). This year it will be held at the Best Western Monterey Bay Resort in Monterey, California.
